Wakefield Trinity head coach Chris Chester has admitted his players need to have a look at themselves after a 46-16 defeat to Wigan. The West Yorkshire outfit were played off the park in the first half on Thursday night, as they found themselves 34-0 down at the DW Stadium against a rampant Warriors’ side.

Chester has admitted his side now run the risk of relegation from the Super League this season and says he told his players just how he felt after a miserable first half for Trinity. “We are in a real bad spot at the minute,” he said. “I spoke to them at half-time and questioned whether the lads cared about each other.
“In the second half it showed they did but there were just too many individuals not playing well enough, too many players not wanting to help their team-mates, and that’s not what we are about. “We need to find a fix or we are going to find ourselves in a fight to stay in Super League. They need to refresh their minds and think about how they can help this team over the next six or seven weeks.”
