Julian Brandt says he already feels at home with Borussia Dortmund and is ready to take the next step with his new club. The midfielder was a revelation during his five years with Bayer Leverkusen and could have quite easily stayed at a club where he was comfortable and idolised by the fans.
However, he says he was ready to challenge himself further, and when BVB came knocking it was an easy decision.”My father [and agent] told me who was interested in signing me and how firm that interest was, but Lucien Favre and Michael Zorc were the only people I met properly,” he told bundesliga.com.
“I had the feeling straight away that it would be a good fit. Sometimes you just get a feeling, without knowing why. I just believe that it’s important for me to take this step, with a certain level of expectation and with the aims we’ve set ourselves.
“I’m excited by this project. I was in Leverkusen for five and a half years and now I want to take the next step in Dortmund. I feel at home here.”
