Former Nigerian international, Mikel Obi has expressed his desire to work with the Super Eagles as a mediator that will ‘fix things’ from the top.
Mike made this known in an interview with CNN Sports, where he stated that he wouldn’t love to work as a manager because he won’t accept the idea of being sacked.
“I would love to get involved with the Super Eagles, but not as a manager; I don’t want to get sacked; I don’t think I can handle that very well.
“I want to be involved with the national team as someone trying to fix the problems from the top, if it means to be a mediator between the players and the NFF to make sure things are run properly and have the right people managing what we should do together to make sure that we succeed.

Mikel discussed the greatest African of all time, revealing that Drogba would go down as the greatest African player in his book.
He said, “There are lots of great African players; there’s George Weah, Samuel Eto’o, Yaya Toure, Jay Jay Okocha, and Nnwakwo Kanu; they are great players. Didier Drogba, for me, will go down as the greatest African player that has played the game.”
“Success doesn’t happen only on the pitch, but from the top. So for me, that’s where we should start. I still maintain huge respect from the players and the fans. That’s what I would love to do in the future, but for now, let’s see what happens at AFCON.”

NFF will never pay a Nigerian half as much as a European manager.Inferiority ckmplex
That’s a good question, which one is mediator? Abeg Mikel if sound in English should join supersport analysts analysing AFCON matches.
You are very correct but unfortunately, supersport no go show am.
Manager ko reganam nii! lol
What a liberty – where have you ever managed before to show that you qualify for such a role in the first place?
Only in Nigeria (of course) Chaii!
Mikel Mikel never willing to take risk to move ball forward still avoiding risk in being a manager just for not being sacked. SMH i guess he is not a risk taker. Having worked with great managers in Chelsea’s he would do well as a manager but the dude is not willing but only want to play diplomat and politics in Nff team.
And when did it become a crime not to want to take risk. He is experienced enough to know why and like he stated he wouldn’t like the idea of being fired. Abeg my brother focus on you family and if you can secure a job in europe, take it with open arms. many bad belle dey that country. Imagine one hater asking where have you coached before. Will not be shocked if that is Dr Drey using another alias. Una go dey ok last last
