Cercle Brugge midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has expressed his desire to represent the Super Eagles if given the opportunity.
Born to a Ghanaian father and Nigerian mother, Agyekum holds dual nationality, presenting a unique opportunity in his football career.

However, in an interview with OGN, Agyekum stated that he has love for both countries but that once the chance to play Eagles comes, he will jump at it.
“My father is from Ghana, but my mother is Nigerian. I can play for both nations. That’s one part that people don’t know about me, and if the chance to play for the Super Eagles comes, I won’t say no,” Agyekum stated.
“I have love for both countries and want to see them do well. Not too good for Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers, but they are doing well in the World Cup qualifiers. For Nigeria, the reverse is the case. I follow both closely.”

Please go and play for Ghana because u can’t get jersey in Nigeria.
The boy is quite good. I pray he returns to Salzburg or upgrades to Leipzig.
I know him very well, very talented boy, playing with his real age. I played with his uncle for a Ghanaian local club. His mother (my friend’s older sister) is from Isukwuato in Abia State. Lawrence has a younger brother who’s equally talented.
He needs to be invited.
Ghana will likely be monitoring him, too. And I think we have more personnel at our disposal than then, but then we shouldn’t miss out on him if he’s an exceptional talent.
This is where I expect Selfmade and Yaw to chip in if he’s a prospect of interest to GFA or Otto Ado. Same thing with Gift Orban, who’s torn between Nigeria and Togo, and NFF kukuma decided to stay out until sorted.
If I were to advice him, I’ll tell him to pick Nigeria over Ghana. Since he has being publicised as having a mixed background of Nigeria-Ghana, that could bring the usual Prejudice from Ghanaians who raise eyebrows over anything that concerns Nigeria. On the contrary, Nigeria will accept him wholly. U-23 invitation would be ideal for now because we have loads of DMs at the moment. But the boy is sure a talent, who can pick up ball and drive forward.
He’s a solid prospect judging by his age and statistics in the Belgium league with lowly rated Cercle Brugge. But GFA will invite him now that Nigeria is involved just to feel alright at getting back on Nigeria whom they wrongly think are their enemies.
Well,he can be good but should be giving a green light to come and sweat it out with the rest of the super Eagles team and he might be able to scale through because that’s how Samuel okwaraji came to play for the super Eagles during his playing days before his death..
