Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits he’d like to play for Mikel Arteta over Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
He has been training with Arsenal in recent months as he looks to find a pathway back into professional former after he was released by Bournemouth, seeing him move into punditry.
Despite City’s recent form this season and success in the years gone by, he would still choose his boyhood club over the Blues.
“If both Pep and Mikel Arteta rang me tomorrow, if they both offered me three-year contracts, then I’m going to Arsenal,” Wilshere told TalkSPORT.
“It’s my club and I want to get them back to where they belong.”
Wilshere has been a free agent since being released by Bournemouth at the start of the season.
Injuries have plagued the 29-year-old ever since he burst onto the scene with some astonishing performances under Arsene Wenger during his teenage years.
And the Gunners still course through his veins, as the former West Ham United midfielder said he would rather play for Arsenal than current table-toppers City.
