Onetime African Coach of The Year, Kadiri Ikhana, has frowned at the unwarranted verbal attack by reigning African Footballer of The Year, Victor Osimhen, on former Super Eagles coach Finidi George and Nigerians, recommending the striker be punished by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Completesports.com reports.
Ikhana told Completesports.com in a telephone chat from his Abeokuta home that Osimhen’s outburst was very disrespectful and undeserving of African Footballer of The Year, adding that if such act is allowed to go unpunished it might breed indiscipline in the camp of national team in future.
The coach who led Enyimba International FC to win the CAF Champions League for the first time for Nigeria in 2003 said it’s been over two weeks since Osimhen blasted Finidi over media reports allegedly that he (Osimhen ) and some Super Eagles players are unpatriotic and the Napoli striker has yet to apologise.

“I want the NFF to look into the matter and ban Osimhen from national team for a period with monetary fine if he fails to apologise to Finidi and Nigerians whom he disrespected with his video rants on his Instagram handle. If this behaviour is allowed to slide
“Even if Finidi George said those things Osimhen accused him of, it didn’t warrant his disrespecting a legend old enough to be his father. At best he should have called Finidi privately to find out if he really said those words before pouring invectives on his coach,” the former Super Falcons coach stated.
Ikhana called on Osimhen to go to Port Harcourt and mend fences with Finidi with a proper apologies, adding that he should do same to the NFF and Nigerians over his rants.
On the chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ikhana said it will be a very difficult task but if NFF and the players resolve to give it their all by winning their remaining games, the Super Eagles can make it to the next World cup to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Osimehn will not apologize and NFF will not ban him, this is the result of having a very weak institutions and having corrupt individuals at the helm of affairs, they will rather behave like politicians that they are and wait to see if the problem will go away.osimehn destroyed himself after attaining a height he didn’t believe he will,in Napoli right now the fans hate him and majority don’t even talk about him on Thier social Media simply bcs he deleted his pictures of the club when fans were all on his side, they saw that move as a betrayal, they love Thier club and won’t take any prisoners .the club wants him sold, Napoli fans wants him sold, conte doesn’t want him,Chelsea and arsenal don’t want him,he finally put the final nail by insulting finidi,I don’t like finidi as a coach but insulting him like that is a No no for me
oga i am really sorry for you.
me too!!!
lmao……
Fake news peddlers. Are you talking about the same Osihmen whom Ratcliff is already preparing a bid for…?
Please kindly show us where you got your story that Napoli fans now hate Osimhen or that Conte doesn’t want him.
Point of Correction: Osimhen wants to leave Napoli, not the other way round.
And Conte wants to keep Osimhen, but an agreement has already been reached between him and the club before the end of the season that he will leave this summer.
Even Kvarastkelia and Di Lorenzo too have indicated interest in leaving Napoli this summer.
Yes we know, y’all hate Osimhen for giving you a piece of your own medicine….but spreading fake news about him is not gonna help your recovery…..LMAOoo
MUGU, dey there dey live for that mini universe wey dey inside your head
All what you penned down here are all your opinion and thinking and they are all jagons, go get your fact right.
Osinmeh destroyed himself?
Napoli fans want him sold?
They don’t want him etc common man.
The dude renewed his contract last summer with the agreement that he will be allowed to leave if any club is willing to meet his clause. Did you read Conte recently press release?
Don’t come here and put all this craps together and making it look like a true story, this type of story is what makes these players disrespect some certain internet fans, after we will start saying the guy don’t have respect, pls we are not doing this again.
Michel spot on but I’m tired of this Osimhen news some idiots are also using it to show us who truly they are.
If Nigerians were as vehement for a change in NFF leadership as they are fervent in their request for the ban of Osihmen, by now we would be thinking of how to reach the semifinals of the 2026 and not about how to qualify….LMAOoo.
The SE is coachless with the next AFCON qualifiers beginning in the next FIFA window, but it is Osimhen’s apology that will make the Naira appreciate against the dollar….LMAOoo.
Fine, Ban, Suspension, Apologies or not…… whatever, the boy succeeded in defending his name and exposing the face of betrayal…and that’s all that matters…!!!
I don’t know why the NFF is keeping quiet of this MATTER…
They should do something ASAP!!!
Lazy hateful ”coach”. Go develop your career rather than focusing on destroying another’s.
Why do know about Kadiri Ikhana the man that won first Champions league for Enyimba. Zip it if you don’t know what to say. If you love Osimhen tell him to be careful European coaches and teams in Europe are watching.
If he is a competent coach, why is he not a bridge builder? Has he not sinned before? How about you? Are you sinless? Why should a so-called intelligent person start talking of disciplinary actions for a case that has neither been investigated nor tried? Is it kangaroo justice?
Shameful.
What is wrong with this Osimhen self? We don’t need him, Sadiq ,Onuachu , Dennis , Arokodare and Junior Ajayi are enough for us. He should remain in Europe . With this, Nigeria fans will have peace. With all these strikers I mentioned, we are good, we don’t even need coach.
I like that! At least it will start training people to read between the lines. And a bunch of the preponderously negative people wii be happy.
Guy man, you are even going too far. No need to look for Osimhen’s replacement outside Nigeria.
What you are looking for in Sokoto, e dey inside shokoto.
We have home based players like Joseph Atule and Godwin Obaje.
These guys are good enough. If we try them, we will completely forget about Osimhen.
NFF don’t even need to pay them their match bonuses. It’s a win win situation for all parties concerned.
@Pompei, what is the meaning of this? This is why Treble 0 aka 442bitch will start insulting you. We don’t need home base players in the Super Eagles. Let’s be guided. You have Sadiq
Olamilekan Fatai who plays for ALASHKERT FC in Armenia or Michael Oche who plays for FC DNEPR MOGILEV in Belarus.
Both of them are far better than NPFL players.
ALASHKERT FC from Armenia? Kimmy Kardashy’s country pipo.
O yes, they have a strong league. Plus Kim visits them regularly. That’s a big plus.
We also have wonderful players in India, Pakistan, Malta, Fiji, and even Sao Tome and Principe.
But our best are here at home. This is why, as Agha wonder said, we have to continue to “look inwards”. In fact, we should check our back pockets too, just in case players are there, waiting to be discovered.
You guys want to kill person with laugh…
@Dr. Drey, your last comment above is spot on. We need to divert our energy to pressure the NFF to put their house in order instead of focusing on Osimehn! i
Hehehehe….you better be careful about issuing addendums to come comments before Chima Eberibe Samuels and his fellow street dog Ugo Iwunze will say you are also Dr.Drey….LMAOoo.
….addendums to my comments…

Oshimen lacks wisdom, discipline and good advisers.
If you want to prove your point, must he uses bad words like someone people here on this forum that lacks maturity and respect for other people.
We are Africans and Oshimen should be fined for his actions no matter what.
I as a person, I love Oshimen but he need to control his anger.
People around him should warn the young man.
Igholo is a good person that I believe will call him and talk to him to be more calm under pressure.
Although, Finidi made some mistakes but that doesn’t mean Oshimen should behave that way.
For this reason, NFF should fine Oshimen #1M while Finidi should pay #500,000.
Respect is reciprocal kę. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
As omo9ja is the judge and jury, he must help pay the fine he imposed on both the defendant and the applicant. Case close.
