Former Rangers star and manager Ally McCoist has revealed that Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho would have scored the golden chance Chelsea striker, Timo Werner missed in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League game against Real Madrid.
Recall that the German international fired straight at Thibaut Courtois from point-blank range with the game goalless early on before Christian Pulisic put Chelsea in front after 14 minutes. However, Karim Benzema equalized against the run of play to leave the tie delicately poised ahead of next week’s game at Stamford Bridge.
Although Werner has scored 11 goals and registered 12 assists in all competitions for the Blues this season, he has come under heavy criticism for the number of chances he has missed this season.
Reacting to Werner’s big miss against Real Madrid, McCoist via his official twitter handle stated that Iheanacho would have slotted the ball into the back of the net if he was in his shoes.
“So it is very difficult to be part of the Nigeria attack, we have very good players. As I said before, I have never stopped following his performances, but I believe that next year he must go and play in a club and in a team that is stronger than Crotone. It will not be equally easy, but he would already have a better chance of returning to the national team “.
👀 “I can see Werner thinking about that chance, where a natural finisher doesn’t.”

😳 “If that’s Iheanacho, he doesn’t miss. I can see a slight sense of hesitation!”

LMAO
What is rohrs alleged statement doing in an article about a Chelsea player?
Iheanacho also missed a one on one with the goalie against west brom. He also failed to score after controlling the ball beautiful with his left but blasting the ball over the bar with his right when the post was just infront of him. He only saved face with the goal he scored. Thats why his coach said he made a lot of mistakes in the match. So any player can miss a clear goal. Its what you do after you miss a goal that matters.
