Former England goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, has posited that Premier League club, Leeds United should have signed Leicester and Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho in the summer transfer window, insisting that the Nigerian would have been a great acquisition.
Iheanacho was reportedly linked to The Whites during the summer but a deal couldn’t be made.
Leeds United sold Raphina and Daniel James to Barcelona and Fulham respectively in the summer without signing adequate replacements. The duo scored a combined 15 Premier League goals for the club last season.

In an interview with MOT Leeds News, Robinson talked up Iheanacho’s quality.
“I think they were naive going into the rest of the season,” said Robinson, a former Leed United, Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers, and Burnley goalkeeper.
“If Patrick is fit, he plays, but looking behind that, maybe his [head coach Jesse Marsch’s] hand was drawn to play Gelhardt [Joe].
“He’s going until January now someone with whose fitness is touch and go, and young strikers that the manager doesn’t trust 100%.
“Iheanacho would be a great player, a very similar option to Bamford. He can lead from the line and press and from the front, Jesse Marsch likes his team to start high up the field and he [Iheanacho] would be good for that.”
Iheanacho has scored one goal and recorded one assist in five Premier League games for Leicester City so far this season.
Leeds United are currently ninth in the Premier League with eight points from six games.
