Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho says the team’s 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia on Friday was not the result the team wanted.
Salman Al-Faaraj scored the first goal of the game for Saudi Arabia in the 60th minute, but the Super Eagles equalised 13 minutes later when Abdulelah Al-Amri
diverted the ball into his own net.
Iheanacho scored to give the Super Eagles the lead in the 81st minute with a blazing shot after replacing Samuel Chukwueze 16 minutes earlier.
But Mohammed Kanno scored deep into stoppage time to ensure the Green Falcons ended their losing streak.
Iheanacho took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to express his feelings after the game.

“Not the result we wanted. We learn and focus on the next game,” he wrote.
Iheanacho has netted 14 goals in 47 games for the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles will take on the Mambas of Mozambique in their next friendly on Monday.
The three-time African champions will shift focus to their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe after the friendlies.
The West Africans will host Lesotho at home on October 13, and later travel to Zimbabwe three days later.
Jose Peseiro’s side will also compete in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with hosts Ivory Coast, Equitorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
