PSV Eindhoven starlet Mohammed Ihattaren says he rejected offers from Chelsea, Manchester United and RB Leipzig to stay close to home. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder recently extended his contract with the Dutch club – where he made 12 Eredivisie appearances this season.
“There was interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and RB Leipzig,” Ihattaren told FunX. “And I could also go to Spain. Of course, a contract abroad would have been great, but I’m just enjoying myself here.” The Netherlands youth international signed new terms in March, which will tie him to PSV until mid-2022 and he says he mainly did it for his family.

“My mother also said ‘money is not the most important thing’. “My father was sick for a while. If you see what he has experienced and what I have experienced. Money has not made him better. Health counts for everything. That was the moment for me: I will stay here.” Ihattaren said
Ihattaren does not rule out a move abroad in the future, however. “Barcelona, Real Madrid, as long as it is a top club – the Spanish league, the English league: that’s what I dream of. “But of course I first try to become a big player at PSV. And if I ever leave, my parents will come too.”
