Odion Ighalo was introduced late as Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0 in Sunday’s derby at Old Trafford, Completesports.com reports.
Ighalo was brought on for Bruno Fernandes with just two minutes left in the game.

A goal in each half from Anthony Martial and substitute Scott McTominay saw United complete the double over their city rival.
Martial opened scoring on 30 minutes after racing on to Fernandes’ clever quick free-kick slamming past Ederson.
And five minutes of added time McTominay capitalised on a poor pass from Ederson to Benjamin Mendy as he ran on to ball before curling into an empty net.
United have now completed a league double over City for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, last achieving it in the 2009-10 campaign.
This was City’s third defeat against United in all competitions in 2019-20 – it is the first time in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career that he has suffered as many as three defeats against a specific opponent in a single season.
The win took United to fifth on 45 points while City are second on 57 points.

A tough game. Impressed by Bruno Fernandes, Martial, and Wan Bissaka. I was looking for Sterling all thru the game, and finally found him….in Wan Bissaka’s back pocket! Couldn’t resist the joke, lol. But Wan Bissaka fully justified his 50 mil pounds price tag today. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Sterling so subdued.
Ighalo had a cameo appearance, and his backheel that started the activity that led to the second goal illustrates what Man United have been missing all season. A player who can hold the ball with his back to goal. Right now, he is one of the best in the world when it comes to this type of play. If you need someone who is good at playing with his back to goal, Ighalo is your man.
Pep, Pep, Pep! How many times did I call you? Man City’s biggest problem is in the center back department. Otamendi is a joke. Fernandinho is a make-shift center back, emphasis on make-shift. And the rest are just not good enough. Pep would be justified to spend all his transfer kitty on center backs for nest season! The current situation is just untenable. As for goalkeeper Ederson, usually reliable, today was a day to forget. He should have saved Martial’s effort for the first goal, and the second goal came from a mistake that even Akpeyi would never make in a million years. Terrible, terrible day at the office for the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Good observations @ Pompeii.
@Pompei
Mba. Don’t associate Akpeyi with mistakes. The guy is currently number one in Africa, no questions.
