Good lineup but sadly Akpoguma is conspicuously missing on the Nigerian list.A superb month indeed for the solid defender who will be astonished on his international omission.
In the absence of Balogun and the inconsistencies of Ekong presents a huge opportunity for the Hoffenheim man to steal a spot in the starting line up in the heart of the defence, unfortunately,Eguavoen doesn’t seem to cut it with this lad, however, every coach have their type of players, sadly Akpoguma is not Egu’s type.
It would be interesting to see who gets picked between the sticks by the new coaching crew.
Akpeyi,Uzoho and Okoye are right on top of their games playing consistently and in the right form in time for the tournament in Cameroon.
Many super eagles fans aren’t convinced of Okoye Manning the post due to how easy he conceds goals on national duties but his performances for clubs kept improving and playing in a much better league than his compatriots stood him in good stead but with the emergence of a new coaching crew may change all that.
Okoye has to prove to Eguavoen why he deserves to be in goal in Cameroon.
Eguavoen a no-nonsense,serious and practical coach may have a different idea.Besides Eguavoen is not one sold on club one is playing especially after hindsight of Okoye’s performances so far on international duties.
