Speaking after arriving, Ighalo wearing a hoodie, he says he is relishing the chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
“It’s a dream come true because since I was a kid I followed and dreamt of Manchester United,” Ighalo told Sky Sports News.
“But it is a reality now. I cannot say much more now until I get started.”
Reflecting on a hectic last few days before the transfer went through, Ighalo said: “It’s been crazy. Obviously, I am happy to be in Manchester first of all.
“This is a great opportunity for me and I am grateful to God, and to my agent, and the coach who has given me this opportunity to be here.
“I am happy to be here and to work out with the team and finish very well this season.
“The plan is to just chill today because I travelled a very long way from Shanghai to Manchester.
“Today is to just rest and tomorrow we start to work.”
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident Ighalo will thrive at the club, having scored 16 goals in 55 Premier League games during his time at Watford.
“Odion is an experienced player,” Solskjaer said.
“He will come in and give us an option of a different type of centre-forward for the short spell he’s staying with us.
“A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here.”

like play like play! e don set, you will excel in Man U, and write your name in gold. but make plans to return to SE
The prayers of 30 orphans, scores of widows, all the citizens of Ajegunle community and 200 million (minus 2 bad belles on CSN who never wish you well) are with you.
Its indeed a herculean task……. coming from off season, from low tempo Chinese league, at the age of over 30, into the 2nd or 3rd biggest club in the world, to the fast paced EPL, at the time when the season his hot hot at its peak….its going to be a really difficult one….at least for the first few weeks.
But impossible is nothing….that is why your are in Old trafford in the 1st place. I hope the Nigerian spirit and God’s favour sees you through, because even the career of the manager is on the line because of your signing.
But our joy remains that you will fly the flag of Nigeria in a club like Man U, at a time when the world labelled you dead and buried. Just enjoy yourself, work you hardest….as they say in local parlance DIE DIA…..and we pray fate plays a good one on you during this time.
