Former home-based Super Eagles midfielder Ifeanyi Mathew has linked up with Turkish first division club, Osmanlispor on loan from Norwegian club Lillestrom till the end of the season with option to make a permanent transfer thereafter, reports Completesports.com.
Mathew, 22, was a member of the home- based Super Eagles squad at the 2016 African Nations Championship hosted by Rwanda was linked with clubs in Norway and Belgium.
Osmanlispor are hoping to secure promotion to the Turkish top flight and Mathew ‘ s arrival will help them push for a place among the elites.
“Mathew has done a brilliant job for LSK for two and a half years,” Lillestrom sports manager Simon Mesfin stated.
“The plan was that he would be sold last summer. But now he got an opportunity that he would very much like to take.
“The agreement was so good that the board decided to approve the agreement.
“We cannot do anything other than to wish Mathew happiness in the future, and thank you for a very good cooperation.
“He is an extremely professional player who we like to see in LSK again.”

If truly he’s so good that you would like to see him again, you would not have loaned
him in the first place and also agree to sell him outright at the of the loan.
Lillestrom were so sure he will leave that they bought his replacement months ago. Ifeanyi is regarded as one Ogbechie their best players, however, the Norwegian league is on a lower level to the Turkish football league
He should do well there.
