Brian Oladapo Idowu registered his first assist of the 2020/21 Russian Premier League season on Friday to help Khimki to secure one point against home side, PFC Sochi, and will be striving to step up his resurgent form.
The Nigerian international set up Alexander Troshechkin to score for Khimki on 24 minutes before Christian Noboa’s 63rd minute equalizer at the Fisht Olympic Stadium.
Idowu also went ahead to see full action in the Russian top-flight encounter which was his second since earning a summer transfer from rivals, Locomotiv Moscow.
The defender’s debut league game for FC Khimki had ended on a disappointing note after they went down to a 2-0 home defeat to CSKA Moscow last week Saturday.
Idowu who linked up with the newly promoted club from Locomotiv Moscow on loan, on Friday before last weekend, was named in the starting line-up for the game.
The 28-year-old also featured for 90 minutes in the game but was unable to prevent his side from losing their opening match of the new Russian Premier League season.
