Southampton midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu has expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of former Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi.
Ugochukwu netted a goal in Southampton’s 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest in Sunday’s Premier League game.

Speaking with the club’s website, Ugochukwu stated that Mikel has greatly influenced his ambitions in football.
“They say I can become a great midfielder like him if I put in the work and everything goes well.
“I wanted to take this step. When a club of this stature comes in for you, it’s very difficult to refuse.”
