Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, has told manager Thomas Tuchel that he wants to play more next season amid interest from French Ligue 1 club Nice.
Kepa, who has been linked with a move away from Chelsea to join Nice, is not pleased with the playing time he has received under manager Tuchel so far.
The 27-year-old was Chelsea’s first choice for two seasons after joining the Stamford Bridge club from Athletic Bilbao a few years ago, but a series of errors and struggles with form led to him being replaced by Edouard Mendy in the 2020-21 campaign.
The Spain international only made 14 appearances that season and 15 in the campaign that just passed.

Speaking with MARCA, Kepa said, “I’m excited, ambitious, eager to start, to enjoy myself and, above all, to play more. I want to be on the pitch for more games.
“In the end, the coach is the one who decides. You have to give him as many reasons as possible to choose you. I like to train, do my best in every session, take care of myself and be ready when the coach asks me.
“Right now, I’m a Chelsea player, but what is clear to me is that I want to play more because I have come from a year or two where, when I have played, I have had great performances.”
