Napoli caretaker coach Francesco Calzona warned Victor Osimhen and his teammates he will ‘not look at their names’ before taking any decision.
Osimhen and highly rated winger Kvicha Kvaratskhelia didn’t last 90 minutes on the pitch in Wednesday’s 1-1 home draw against Barcelona.
Kvaratskhelia in particular was hauled off before Napoli’s equalising goal.
The Georgian cut a disappointed figure after he was replaced by Jesper Lindstrom.
Osimhen on the hand was substituted immediately after netting the leveller.
“I keep the players on the field who are doing well, I don’t look at their names,” the coach said at his post-match press conference.
“Matteo Politano had an excellent match, he was defending well too with great vigour. Those who do not do well can be removed.”
Calzona also revealed he was not remotely tempted to keep Osimhen on for longer after the equaliser.
“No, in fact I had been ready to take him off earlier, but due to a tactical issue, I kept him on for a few more minutes.”

The man’s last name – CALZONA.
Is he named after the calzone pie? Maybe his ancestors were master bakers.
Let’s hope Napoli’s football will be delicious during his tenure.
