Serie A giants Roma have reached an agreement for the signing of free agent Mats Hummels.
Roma have secured Hummels on a one-year deal, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport.
After selling Smalling to Al Fayha, the Giallorossi accelerated in talks for the German veteran defender.
The last details of the deal have been finalized by Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi and Hummels’ agent earlier this evening.
Roma have prepared a one-year contract for the ex-Borussia Dortmund man, as requested by the German.
The player will arrive at 12pm on Wednesday 4 September for the medical visits and the signing of the contract.
Hummels also featured for Bayern Munich before switching for their rivals.
The former German international helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final where they lost 2/0 against US.
