Chris Hughton insists he will never let his Brighton players lose focus or get ahead of themselves despite their position in the table.
The Seagulls managed to finish 15th in their first season in the Premier League last term and were once again among the favourites to be relegated before a ball had been kicked in 2018-19.

However, the Amex Stadium outfit have defied the odds and sit 13th in the top-flight standings with 25 points to their name after 20 games.
Ten points clear of the relegation zone, it was put to Hughton that his men might now look to push on and better last season’s tally of 40 points.
However the boss had made it clear that staying in the present is far more important than wondering what might be. “That would be nice but as manager, I must admit I still don’t think that way,” he said. “That’s nothing detrimental, it’s just I don’t want to think that way.
“What I want to be doing is putting pressure on the team to make sure we are very conscious of where we are and don’t let any complacency set in. “It would be nice to at some stage to think that way but probably my experiences are just making sure we don’t lose our way.”
