As a massive transfer saga comes to an end, we are finally at the time of the season where transfers are being announced and it feels like we won’t get a bigger one than this one. Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and will most likely go down as the best player of this generation.
So far, his career hasn’t been as good as his talent suggests with him being in the French League for nearly 9 seasons and it’s not harsh to say that this league isn’t the best league in the world. You might say that winning the Ligue 1 trophy with PSG is like getting a bonus on the top megaways slots in 2024, not as challenging as you might think. Mbappe received a lot of criticism when the other lead player in this generation, Erling Haaland, went to the hardest and best league in the world and challenged himself.
And now, we are at the time where he gets his move and he goes to the best team in the world that has just won the league and the Champions League. This has come with a mixture of emotions from football fans with some being elated at the idea of seeing Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham and some being annoyed at the lack of challenge again.
I am more on the side of the latter fans but I have an overall feeling of: “Why would he challenge himself?” We need to realise he is the best player in the world, arguably, and if the best team in the world is calling, why wouldn’t he go? He has the opportunity to build an incredible footballing legacy and go into an incredible list of footballers who have won the Ballon ‘Dor and winning the Champions League with Real Madrid would give him the best chance.

How Does The Team Fit Together?
The star-studded team that he is joining makes the move even more interesting because the amount of attacking threat that they bolster now makes the team a little harder to pick. We expect Real Madrid to play a front three of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius and then the third spot is difficult. Personally, if I was Carlo Ancelotti I lean towards Rodrygo playing on the right side of the three but does this mean that Madrid move Bellingham to midfield even after his incredible first season for Madrid as more of a False Nine or will they move Mbappe to the right and leave Bellingham in the middle still? Well recently Rodrygo has been linked to Manchester City and people think because of the signing of Mbappe, the Brazilian star will be worried about his position in the team.
What I Would Play
Pretending to be Ancelotti here, I think that managing players’ minutes next season will be vital. Not only did Madrid sign, they also signed 17-year-old wonderkid Endrick who plays as a striker, which means they have even more options to come into this team and keeping everyone happy is going to be hard. I think for the big games next season there will be a set team that Madrid and Ancelotti will be and that will involve a midfield of Camavinga, Valverde, Bellingham and an attack of Mbappe, Vinicius JR and Rodrygo. With Endrick, Ardu Guler and Tchouameni coming in as regular substitutes. This is a terrifying team and the summer hasn’t even started for them yet.
What Could They Win?
I wholeheartedly think that every single trophy that Real Madrid are up for next season will be won by Los Blancos and we could be seeing a new generation of footballing domination and Madrid could win the league and Champions League for years to come and personally, this worries me.
