Watford are reportedly lining up a £15million bid for Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden. With interest in Abdoulaye Doucoure set to increase, Watford boss Javi Gracia is said to be eyeing up potential replacements and his sights appear to be set on Newcastle’s Hayden.
The 24-year-old, who arrived at St James’ Park from Arsenal in the summer of 2016, was a key figure under Rafael Benitez last season as the Magpies managed to stave off the threat of Premier League relegation.
Despite making 25 league appearances in the previous campaign, the midfielder made it clear he wants to leave Tyneside in order to be closer to his family, who live in the south of England.
The Hornets are now hoping to take advantage of the situation and test owner Mike Ashley’s resolve with a £15m offer, an amount that is more than five times what Newcastle paid Arsenal for Hayden.
