Watford are reportedly leading the chase to sign Nice’s French winger Allan Saint-Maximin in this transfer window. The Hornets are one of several Premier League clubs to have been linked with the highly-rated 22-year-old, who scored six goals and provided three assists in 29 games in all competitions for the French Ligue 1 side last season.
And it seems Saint- Maximin could be given the green light to leave after he was embroiled in a spat with Nice manager Patrick Vieira who has recently questioned his attitude. The former France international World Cup winner said: “Allan’s problem is unfortunately that he thinks his talent is enough to reach the very highest level.
“He must understand that he needs to work and to make sacrifices. He needs to suffer. And unfortunately, he is yet to understand that.” Potential suitors would be required to pay in the region of £25million for Saint-Maximin’s signature with reports claiming Watford are vying to pull off a club-record coup for his services.
