Watford have reportedly offered a contract to midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru, who is a free agent after leaving Manchester City. The Nigeria under-20 international turned down the offer of a new deal at the Etihad Stadium in order to further his career elsewhere, as he was limited to just one senior appearance during his time with the Premier League champions.
A number of clubs from abroad are believed to have expressed an interest in the 19-year-old, including Hungarian outfit Mol Fehervar, although it now appears Watford are hoping to convince him to remain in England.
The Hornets are said to have offered Dele-Bashiru a contract, although it is not yet known the length of the proposed deal. Javi Gracia’s side would also need to pay Man City around £220,000 in compensation if the teenager does opt to move to Vicarage Road, as he was a product of their academy system and spent a total of 14 years at the Etihad Stadium.
Watford have only made addition to their first-team so far this summer, with defender Craig Dawson arriving on a four-year contract from West Brom.
