Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen is upbeat the team will earn a berth at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Eagles will face the Back Galaxies in the second leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier on Saturday.
Both teams battled to a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Accra last weekend.

I am very confident too. It will be 2 or 3-nil to Nigeria.
If I was a betting man, I’m keeping my hard earned money firmly in my pocket.
The disappointment of 2022 under Eguavoen is still fresh in memory. If they win, pleasant surprise! We celebrate. If they lose, at least I’m not going to be disappointed all over again!
“I am absolutely confident we will qualify for the CHAN” – Eguavoen.
Absolutely confident? Hmmm.
Does the use of the word ABSOLUTE here mean Ghana has no chance? If the situation was really ABSOLUTELY in Nigeria’s favor, why would Ghana bother to even show up?
This is the kind of reckless overconfidence that led to the crushing disappointment of 2022. I hope coach Ogunmodede and his boys have a more realistic viewpoint. Yes, we have a good chance, but so do Ghana! There is nothing absolute here. The ticket is up for grabs, and both teams have a good chance of carrying the day.
