Roy Hodgson hailed Jordan Ayew for his “super-human” efforts following Saturday’s hard-fought win over Fulham. The Ghanaian was in great form during the victory which sees the Eagles move four points clear of the relegation zone and his overall efforts of closing down the opposition and leading from the front delighted Hodgson.

The former England boss says it was the frontman’s best ever game for the side and claimed he had “super-human powers”. “For Ayew on all-round performance, it was his best performance,” Hodgson said. “His work rate and efforts in the game at Southampton in midweek was fantastic “In this game again, you see the man has super-human powers in terms of the effort he puts in. “I thought he succeeded with the ball as well. “It was an incredible impact from him and also from Michy. That assist was good. We think he will be of enormous value to us in our attempts to stay in the league.”
