Chris Wilder claims Sheffield United have got their “number one target” after re-signing keeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old Manchester United custodian was an ever-present in the Blades’ promotion-winning campaign last season and kept a total of 21 clean sheets.
Henderson penned a new contract to keep him at Old Trafford until 2022, but will now continue his development with the Blades as they embark on their first Premier League campaign since 2006-07.
On the deal, Wilder told the club’s official website: “Dean was always our number one target. We’ve had to fight to get a good deal and that’s part and parcel of our approach in the transfer market.”
