KRC Genk Chief Executive Officer Erik Gerits has expressed his delight after Paul Onuachu penned a new contract with the club, Completesports.com reports.
Genk announced on Monday that the Nigeria international has penned a one-year contract extension at the club.
“We wanted to appreciate Paul for what he means to KRC Genk,” Gerits told HBvL
“When such an important contract breaks open, a new salary is part of it.

“On the other hand, the mutual bond is also strengthened, we are stronger in our position because the player will not enter his last contract year after this season.”
“We communicate very openly with each other, Paul also knows that we will never stop him if he can realise his dream transfer. But then on the conditions that are right for him and for us,” he further explained.
“Until it comes to that, Paul will be at his best for us. You can see that already.
“He is a phenomenon, as our technical director and coach already said. In Belgium and in Europe, not only in terms of the numbers, but also in his relationships.”

If Onuachu was to be a Brazilian he will be playing for a bigger club by now. What has Nigerians done wrong that we have to work extra harder to get to the top? Take a look at Osihmen that Napoli was criticized for paying 70million yet they rejected 200million for Mbappe. It means Mbappe is 3times better than Osigoal. All this people no get joy o.
Whatever the case ,I will always prefer Awoyini to Onuanu as backup to victor Osihmen. Awoyini can run with the ball at his feet .He can also attack from deep midfield and play well with his team .Teri mofi is next..It’s not a mistake that theses players are in top five Europe leagues. If Onuachu’s style of play dovetails well with modern tactics why no club come for him after scoring 30plus in Belgium. Osimhem did not score up to that but Napoli, Liverpool ,Totenham et al were drooping to sign him at 80million pounds..but Onuachu only 25million no club show up. My people something is definitely wrong . It’s not about the volume of goals but how they are scored and the quality of opposition
He is a good player, every team needs a player like him as a starter or backup.
As a player and Midfielder. I know Onuachu style of play, his a tall striker but not aggressive like ibrahimovic and other tall strikers. He dose not have horse power like Osemhen or Drogba, Amokachi even, He score cheap goals and he doesn’t have ruggadity in his game. I saw him at national stadium and I told him, Nwannem go to Italia league or France, he was smiling. Big clubs can’t come for him because of his playing style. Osemhen is expensive because Osemhen is a horse, bomber to bomber and he chase every single ball.
Lolllzzzz…..this comment cracked me up so bad
Bobby so obsessed with Nigeria he can’t help it lol. You go soon end up for psych ward. Keep it up
I DID SAY IT. IF THEY WON’T LET YOU GO FOR A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY, THEN ENSURE YOU GET IMPROVED WAGES BECAUSE YOU HAVE EARNED IT.
WELDONE FOR THE NEW CONTRACT AND INCREASED PAY.
Onuachu is more of a Target man. Whenever the wingers in genk get the ball, they cross it into the opponents box knowing that Paul will be there to meet it. His height gives him and advantage in aerial balls but when it comes to pace, skill, movement of the ball outside the box he is lacking. Most teams in Europe want versatile and mobile centre forwards that are a bit of everything a centre forward needs. Outside his aerial prowess and his imposing frame, he doesn’t bring much to a team.
If he goes to a bigger team and he cant adapt then he may find himself on the bench.
My advice to him is to work on his game and not be in a hurry to go to a bigger club but to take things step by step.
Abeg make your money joor. Congrats and more grease to your elbow
