Fulham manager Marco Silva has reserved special praise for Alex Iwobi after his impressive display against Norwich City on Wednesday night.
Iwobi made a good impression on his first start for the London club in the Carabao Cup third round contest.
The Nigeria international set up Fulham’s opening goal and scored the second himself.
An elated Silva showered encomium on the versatile midfielder after the game.
Silva told the club’s official website: “As you know, he’s a player that I know really well. I was responsible for him signing for Everton as well.
“A player that I know what he can do for ourselves in many different positions on the pitch.
“He has quality, he’s dynamic, and his energy, as well, means he’s going to be another important player for us.”
The Cottagers will face Ipswich Town in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old was signed by Silva for Everton five years ago.
Silva’s influence played a key role in his decision to move to the Craven Cottage.
