The Dutchman heaped plaudits on the 28-year-old for his performance against Manchester United.
“It starts with the character of the person, which is excellent. Then there’s the leadership, his arrival in the box, which you saw at United,” Van Nistelrooy told a press conference.
“He has enormous reach on and off the pitch. The complete package of him has lifted the team.”
Leicester City will host Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
