Former Chelsea defender, Mario Melchiot has blamed Kai Havertz’s poor form in Arsenal’s shirt as a result of the fans inability to show him love.
Recall that many Arsenal fans were not happy when manager Mikel Arteta opted to sign him in the summer transfer window for £65 million.
Havertz had a slow start to his Gunners stint as a central midfielder.
The Germany international went nine appearances without registering a goal contribution.
However, the 24-year-old scored his first goal for Arsenal during their 4-0 win against Bournemouth last weekend.

“I understand what Stevie (Nicol) is saying ‘the game is not done because it’s 2-0. But I think the bigger picture is very important,” Melchiot said (via HITC).
“The fans don’t like Havertz. He is struggling with that. So, the moment he picks up the ball, then he has a lot of pressure.”
Player profile
Havertz has been described as a technically gifted, two-footed attacking midfielder who is comfortable with the ball on either foot and adept with his head.
During his formative years, his style of play drew early comparisons to compatriot Mesut Özil, with Havertz himself admitting the midfielder was a player he looked up to.
By the age of 19, and following numerous impressive performances in the Bundesliga, further comparisons had been drawn between Havertz and former Leverkusen players such as Michael Ballack and Toni Kroos and some began describing him as a combination of all three and an Alleskönner, a player who can do everything.
