Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says Birmingham City’s Che Adams is on a list of players the club will be looking at in the summer. Since arriving at St Mary’s on December 5, Austrian tactician Hasenhuttl has favoured youth over experience, with Yann Valery now the recognised right wing-back, while Josh Sims has also been given chances in recent weeks.

With Southampton’s Premier League status almost secured, plans are already in motion for a busy summer transfer window as the south coast outfit look to strengthen their attacking options in particular. Birmingham star Adams has been attracting huge interest across England after netting 22 goals from 41 Championship appearances this season, and a move to the Premier League looks to be on the cards.
When asked about a possible summer move for the 22-year-old, Hasenhuttl said: “I don’t want to discuss any personality. We were linked with him in the winter transfer period also. “We have eyes on a few young players who fit in our shape or our philosophy and what I can guarantee (is), we are mainly looking for younger players. First, we have to be safe.” However, despite his earlier comments, when asked whether Adams was likely to be one of the names on a long list of potential transfer targets, he added: “Yes.”
