Scrum-half Sam Harrison says there’s more optimism in the Leicester Tigers squad as they aim for improvement in the coming season. The Tigers finished second-bottom in the Gallagher Premiership last term, winning just seven of their 22 games.
However, there is hope they will be able to compete much better in the 2019-20 campaign with the players all back working hard in pre-season training. Harrison says he feels fitter after being put through his paces in recent days as preparations continue and he senses a more positive attitude amongst his teammates.
He told LTTV: “It has been good. I’ve settled back in, got a bit of fitness back. “It’s good to be back with all the lads who are a lot younger than me. “As a group, there will be a genuine excitement, as opposed to the last few years. I do feel this year, genuinely, there will be the excitement that is is a new start now. “We’ve got so much ahead of us as a group.”
