Trainer Jessica Harrington says she will not rush 1000 Guineas contender Albigna back into action. The two-year-old has won on both her outings so far and looked in fantastic shape last time out at the Curragh. Albigna kicked on over the final six furlongs in the Airlie Stud Stakes to edge Aidan O’Brien’s Precious Moments by half-a-length in the Group Two contest on Friday.
All the signs suggest Albigna will have no trouble stepping up in trip, but Harrington insists she is in no rush to get her charge, who holds an entry for the Moyglare Stud Stakes on September 15, back in action. “She’s absolutely fine, not a bother on her,” said Harrington. “She put in a very good performance. “I haven’t made any plans yet. She has an entry in the Moyglare. That is some way off, (so) we’ll just see where we’re going.”
