Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland has been ruled out of Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifying matches with Spain and Georgia due to a groin injury.
The match with Spain will take place on Saturday, March 25 at the La Rosaleda Stadium and the game with Georgia will be on Tuesday, March 28 at the Adjarabet Arena.
He reportedly sustained the injury in City’s 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Burnley.
The Mirror reports that 22 year old has departed from the Norwegian camp.
A statement from the Norwegian FA read
“Erling Braut Haaland has had some pain in his after the match against Burnley.
“We hoped that this was just a familiarity that would carry over to Saturday, but after doing some tests and examinations it became clear that he will not make it to the games against Spain and Georgia.
“Haaland thus travels home from the national team meeting.”
Haaland has netted 21 goals in 23 games for Norway.
