Former Nigerian international John Ogu says he’s sure Victor Osimhen must have apologised to former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George over his social media rant.
Recall that Osimhen’s eruption occurred after Finidi resigned as the head coach of the Super Eagles and was quoted to have said he can’t beg Osimhen to play for the national team after the player withdrew from their last two 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to injury.

However, in a chat on the Fans Tribe Podcast, Ogu stated that Osimhen shouldn’t be judged by his actions.
“I know Osimhen, even in his under-17s days I know the boy as a good boy, a boy that is respectful, regardless of who you are.
“At that moment when someone accuses you of something, you may lose control. Some people need to speak what is on their minds or they can’t sleep. He (Osimhen) did that.
“Has he apologised? I am sure he has.”

If he is strong and what you say he is, he should do it on the same Instagram page.
And not just Finidi but also to Nigerian fans. The one he said, Ogun ma pa yin. god of iron will kill them.
You can’t cover a big mess for long it will come with a big smell sooner or later.
I wish him well all the same.
On his transfer, I once said the best place is to go to PSG. If arsenal is not going to work out, he should go to PSG and do the unthinkable with them winning the champions league.
That’s what legends do. He did it with Napoli he can do it with PSG too.
He is also sure of winning the league.
This is not so with united, Chelsea or even arsenal if guardiola is still with man city.
And I don’t think he is ready for England now. The press is ready to pounce on him not with the not too good off field records he has now.
The VO of U-17 is different from the recent VO. The guy has evolved from a boy to young adult. He knows better now, what he did to FG was deliberate and one can question national team selection that is purely based on who you know from the Under 17;to Senior national team.
The NFF should be blame for not adopting code of conduct for all our national teams. What he did was
unprofessional.
But make we talk true victor osimehn no sabi play ball na just gra gra,
If ur papa sabi knack hin suppose don do withdrawal method when knacking ur mama
Lmao…My papa no sabi o my brother..your mother failed to teach him na. Cos she was the one that disvirgined my dad in one uncompleted building like that lmao..oh! didn’t she tell you..
Absolutely! This VO is different from the one of u17. He was humiliated by his club & did nothing but in Nigeria anything goes. Publicly swearing at even a street club coach is still a no , no talk less of a Coach like Finidi.
I love Osimhen & watch almost every Napoli game but if you watch his rant then you’ll agree it’s nothing short of embarrassing and disgraceful especially for Africa’s best that is supposed to be an ambassador.
I believe a baby should not be thrown away with the bath water, but his refusal to make a public apology to Nigerian fans and Finidi doesn’t give hope of a quick character transformation.
