Ilkay Gundogan has rejected rumours linking him with a return to Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window. The Germany international is due to fall out of contract with Manchester City at the end of next season and it has been suggested he could depart the Premier League champions this summer.

Gundogan spent five years with Dortmund prior to his switch to Manchester and a return to the Westfalenstadion has been mooted, but the 28-year-old has dismissed those rumours and says he hopes to agree a new deal with City.
“I would know about that, I know nothing, I have not spoken to anyone,” he said after Germany’s win over Estonia on Tuesday when asked about the transfer speculation. “There will be talks in the summer and then we’ll see. “I’m not dissatisfied with Manchester City and that’s why I would not say that I really want to leave because the club wants to extend my contract.”
