Great Britain have secured promotion to World Group II after a Fed Cup play-off win over Kazakhstan. Katie Boulter won the decider as she battled through injury problems to secure a comeback victory over Zarina Diyas.
Boulter was a set and a break down, and was troubled by a back issue, but she came through to beat Diyas 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 6-1 as GB ended a 26-year wait for Fed Cup promotion.

Johanna Konta gave Britain a 1-0 lead with victory over Diyas in the opening singles rubber, and then restored the lead with an incredible fight back win of her own as she saw off world number 38 Yulia Putintseva 4-6 6-2 7-5 as GB opened up a 2-1 advantage.
Boulter, who said she was “devastated” after losing to Putintseva in the second singles rubber after missing three match points, then held her nerve and fought back to beat Diyas.
