Remo Stars defender Sadiq Ismail is delighted with his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles, reports Complete sports.com.
The right-back was on Friday named in Super Eagles’ squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Ismail and Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo are the only home-based players in the squad.
He took to the social media to celebrate his his call-up by head coach Finidi George.

“I’m thrilled to receive my first national team call-up! I’m eager to give my all and make a strong contribution,”he wrote on X.

Sadiq has registered 10 assists for Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
The Super Eagles will entertain South Africa in a matchday three encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, June 7.
Finidi George’s side will travel away to Abidjan to keep a date with Benin three days later.
