Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets striker Light Eke recently graduated from secondary school.
This was disclosed by the media officer to the Golden Eaglets at the 2023 U-17 AFCON in Algeria, Francis Achi on Twitter.
Achi posted pictures of the young forward with his fellow students who graduated from Greenspring College in Lagos.
“Golden Eaglets striker, LIGHT EKE graduates from secondary school.
“Eke is a product of Greenspring college, Lagos State.
“Congratulations,” Achi wrote on Twitter.
Eke featured for the Eaglets at the U-17 AFCON and scored just one goal, which was in the 3-2 win against South Africa in their last group game.
However, the Eaglets lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals which automatically ruled them out of qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Hmmm… First time Nigeria lost World Cup slot and I didn’t feel too sad. Because I know they lost because they played against their fathers and elder brothers in football.
Next for you is U20. Congratulation and Stay Fit.
And they will still play against their father’s and they will still fail, and Nigeria will stop qualifying for any competition then your eyes will open,my brother the end justifies the means if you like use 5years old boys play for under 17 it will never help you rubbish
The boy is a product of Kanu’s football camp at Greensprings College. Seems to have learned a thing or two from Papilo, as his game is somewhat similar. Intelligent, technically gifted player.
Light Eke after my careful assessment is the most intelligent and witty footballer of that Golden Eaglet Class of 2023.I saw semblance of Samuel Eto’o kind of player in the young man.
He really impressed me, had we taken Ebube Okere, Jibril Azeez and Oyebanjo to Algeria we will be in World Cup by now. Well, it’s actually the mistakes of Toochukwu Ogboji that caused us the world cup ticket, and conceded to Burkina Faso.
The guys I am looking at from that team, Lawali, Emmanuel, Linus, Light, Agada, Abdullahi and goalkeeper Odoh. Better days are ahead of them.
Light eke is very young and talented…..a modern day attacking Midfielder who is very direct in his play unlike most African playmakers of his age…..He should be transferred to a very competitive club side that is known to develop young talents and give them playing time……Ajax,Anderlecht,Arsenal, will be ideal for him to develop into a Midfield monster…..Am so Happy the legendary Kanu Nwankwo is connected to Eke’s career.
LMFAO….
HIM pass him WAEC?
Make una tell us too…
