Rangers manager Steven Gerrard believes Joe Aribo possessed the quality to become one of the best players in the world, Completesports.com reports.
Aribo has earned rave reviews for his performances for club and country in recent weeks.
The 23-year-old proved his class on the international stage with a clinical strike in Nigeria’s 1-1 friendly draw against five-time world champions Brazil last week.
He scored on his debut for the Super Eagles against Ukraine in September.
Gerrard who took a big gamble by signing the little known midfielder from Charlton Athletic in the summer backed him to take the world by storm in few years to come.
“The moment of the goal against Brazil and the type of goal, he will score them throughout his career because he’s got all the attributes to make the box and I still have to pinch myself that we got him here,”Gerrard told hitc.com.
“Joe can be whatever he wants to be if he stays humble.”

High praise from Gerrard, who knows a thing or two about being a goal-scoring midfielder. It’s about getting in the box and having the composure to finish. Unbelievable start to Aribo’s international career. Two goals in two games, one against Brazil! I’m not sure he saw this happening even in his wildest dreams.
It’s the mark of a smart guy who catches a whiff of opportunity his peers never perceive. To come against the likes of those skilful Samba dancers and hold your head high is no small thing. Wishing him the best.
Now we have Aribo
Ebere Eze is next
NFF make this happen on time
We can’t afford to miss this promising talent
That boy is brimming with confidence and lots of qualities
We need Ebere Eze plsssss
Jo Aribobo…!
Reminds me so much of Late Muda Lawal……One minute he’s cleaning up loose balls from the defence and initiating attacks….the next minute he is finishing up the attack with a goal.
Sweet discovery I tell you.
One reason I’m in love with this current team.. Do well as an eligible Nigerian player and be sure to get invited, there is never a time we hear of coach against player or player fighting coach, rohn is so matured and experience, that he doesn’t get to interfere with these boys personal life and gives everyone even our opponents the reason they all deserve.
I was watching a video clip one time of players in camp, I discovered rohn was just sitting at one corner enjoying himself while the boys were somewhere else gisting, he didn’t even come close, the boys were all dancing and cerebrating , yet he never make an attempt to interrupt.. If it were to a coach like olishe I’m sure no one would try such in camp, I still haven’t forgiven that coach on how he caused the premature retirement of enyeama..
