Victor Boniface was on target again as Bayer Leverkusen came from 2-0 down to beat Koln 3-2 after extra-time and qualify for the semi-finals of the DFB-POKAL on Wednesday.
Boniface has now scored in back-to-back games for Leverkusen after getting on the score sheet target in his side’s 3-1 win against Hoffenheim in the league on Sunday.
The Nigeria international, who came on in the 76th minute, scored Leverkusen’s third goal eight minutes into extra-time to complete the comeback.
Damion Downs gave Koln the lead in 10 minutes of added time in the first half before Linton Maina made it 2-0 on 54 minutes.
In the 61st minute Patrik Schick pulled a goal back for Leverkusen and netted six minutes into added time to force the game to extra-time.
Boniface then grabbed what proved to be the winning goal for Leverkusen who are the defending champions of the DFB-POKAL.
