Former Cameroon midfielder, Geremi Njitap has revealed that he will never forgive Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp over his comment about the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Klopp had in November, while talking about the lack of international breaks for his players from then until March, told the press that there was a ‘little tournament in Africa’ coming up in January.
However, in an interview with Dailymail, Geremi has hit out at Klopp for claiming that the AFCON is a ‘little tournament’.
“When Jurgen Klopp described the Africa Cup of Nations as a ‘little tournament’ I was far from impressed.
“A lot of fans from outside of Africa may not know but in my view, AFCON is the third most important football tournament on the planet and it means so much to anyone competing on this stage.
“I am unhappy about Klopp’s remarks, to say the least, and think it’s a big shame that the Liverpool manager has not respected the competition.”

They are also here with us. It is unfortunate such unhealthy outburst could come out of Klopp’s buccal cavity that one wonders what was in his orifice.
I share in Geremi’s feelings as we also have Klopp doppelganger in our midst. They go about brandishing baseless commentary on how the NFF, Sports Ministry and Nigerian officials are corrupt. These scallywags go to any length to tarnish the image of the country to a large segment of global view. Something urgent has to be done about it before it gets out of hand.
Take heart, Geremi. Take it easy with these Oyinbo guys. Actually, many of them know very very little outside their immediate circles, many not traveling outside their towns or states till their hair turns gray.
I bet you Klopp cannot mention 10 African countries.
Point taken KangaA
Many of these western dudes don’t even have a clue of Africa one bit than their thinking that it’s a dark continent . All I can say is that Africa should raise its own bar the more not minding those who speak ill of it for out of their actions their mindsets are minute in reasoning .
@KangA they know so much about Africa and even though our cities compete with theirs most of them like to think we still live in huts and swing from trees like monkey… Maybe it makes their undersized dikks lengthen when they say it…
Germans were the first to occupy Cameroon in the name of colonial masters. Jurgen Klopp knows so much about Africa… Hard to see an exposed European who has not yet taken Safari holiday to Africa to enjoy our landscape and nature.
Klopp won’t even win league with Mane and Sallah not attending Afcon. Man City has already ran away from reach. They starting shaming Afcon in the name of calling it a small tournament. Later they tried to use Omicron to discredit the tournament as if Corona is not disrupting their own clubs and football activities.
