Gennaro Gattuso says his midfielders must improve their delivery into the box for Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen as he rues yet another home loss for Napoli.
Gattuso critically appraised The Partenopei performance in the 0-3 home loss to Sassuolo on Sunday, and said that Osimhen didn’t get enough links in the Serie A matchday-6 game for raids on the opponents’ goal.
The Super Eagles Forward has so far netted one goal and an assist from five games in the Serie A. Gattuso believes that the striker can score if his teammates give him better Service.
‘We didn’t convert our chances, we could’ve done more, there’s no point talking about a penalty,” Football Italia quoted Gattuso to have told Sky Sports Italia.

“If you don’t press Sassuolo well, then Boga and Traore can cause real problems. Our tempo was too slow when Sassuolo had the ball. We have to keep working, keep improving, finding a way to give Osimhen better service.”
There some Napoli chances at Sassuolo goal as they marginally dominated ball possession in the game. The Gattuso’s men had a penalty appeal ignored by referee Maurizio Mariani after Marlon appeared to have impeded on Osimhen:s movement with a shirt pull, and the visitors took advantage of the distraction to score their second goal in the stoppage time.
Gattuso added: “We had many chances, we didn’t convert them, we could’ve done more and there’s no point standing here talking about whether it was a penalty or not. That’s the way they saw it, we have to focus on the game.
“These incidents can happen, it’s not my job to judge the referee. I judge the team and I say we could’ve done better. Sassuolo are a side that make you run hard and we were too frenetic. We were naïve on their penalty, we should focus first on being solid and getting the goal later.”

SCORENigeria has specially gathered that angry Super Eagles stars are now spoiling for a showdown with top football officials after they are yet to be paid $17,500 (more than nine million Naira) bonus each for finishing third at last year’s AFCON in Egypt.
This revelation comes as SCORENigeria learnt the Eagles are also owed bonuses for various other matches.
This will include the wins over Benin and Lesotho in 2021 AFCON qualifiers as well as appearance fees for the team’s last four friendlies – vs Ukraine, Brazil, Algeria and Tunisia.
A source told SCORENigeria: “The boys are no longer smiling over the outstanding bonuses going back to the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
“They have said their patience has run out and they will have to be paid these monies before the first match against Sierra Leone in Benin City on November 13.”
Nigeria pipped Tunisia 1-0 to finish third at the 2019 AFCON.
They also lead their qualifying group for next AFCON in Cameroon in 2022.

Here we go again!
Gatuso u are too hard on ur players. U make them run on the field 90mins. U don’t give ur opposing team chances to exposee their defence. Hence u loss matches u could have won easily. And u stand too for 90mins. Give ur opponents some breathing space so that ur boys can score good goals. The rushing is too much.
Am I the only one not understanding your comment? Gattuso should give his opponent time to expose his defense, am not getting ur message biko mr olu
