Leeds Rhinos head coach Dave Furner has admitted his side’s first-half performance against Hull KR was simply not good enough. The Rhinos conceded 31 points in the first half of Thursday night’s trip to the Robins, with the hosts eventually running out 45-26 winners to leave Leeds still rock bottom of the Super League table.

Furner pulled no punches after the full-time whistle and feels his side have plenty to work on if they are to climb up the table in the months to come. “That first half, 31 points, not good enough. Our completion was poor in the first half,” he said.
“I think they scored on their first three visits to our try-line. The contact wasn’t good enough and they ran harder than us. “We did a really good job of getting back to 31-22. I thought ‘we are coming home here’, but then all of a sudden, a little kick or someone missing their assignment gave them an opportunity at our end. “Then any wind in our sails got taken straight out.”
