Fulham could be back in for Mason Holgate after chief scout Brian Talbot saw him play for West Brom in Tuesday’s play-off semi-final. The Cottagers were rumoured to be keen on the Everton defender ahead of last January’s transfer window but he joined the Baggies instead – making 21 starts for the Championship club.

The Toffees have been monitoring his development at West Brom and may decide that his versatility across the backline will be a useful asset next term. But Everton boss Marco Silva was happy to let him go in January and may listen to offers in the summer for the 22-year-old.
Another reason for Talbot’s scouting mission at the Hawthorns could be Stefan Johansen, who was allowed to join West Brom on a season-long loan last January. Fulham have already confirmed they have renewed the Norwegian’s contract and it looks like he will be part of Scott Parker’s plans for next season.
