Chris Froome is confident Team Sky will continue in cycling beyond this year. After a decade in the sport, Sky revealed in December that 2019 would be their final year as the main sponsor of a UCI team.
The media organisation’s millions has helped Froome and his team-mates dominate in recent years and Dave Brailsford now has the job of finding a similarly wealthy backer.

A number of South American companies have been suggested, with a Colombian oil company, Ecopetrol thought to be interested.
Brailsford will need to have something in place by April 1 due to the deadline on UCI licences but Froome says he has not started seeking alternative arrangements as he is confident the team will find a solution.
“It hasn’t really crossed my mind to look elsewhere, to be honest,” he told Cycling News. “I’m confident the team will find a new title sponsor for next year.
“Obviously, Sky have been incredible to us over the last 10 years, and we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a sponsor for 10 years. “That’s quite rare in cycling. But I’ve got every faith in the management of the team in that they’ll secure something going forward for 2019 and beyond.”
