Freiburg have snapped up South Korean starlet Wooyeong Jeong from Bayern Munich after the 19-year-old penned a long-term contract. Jeong impressed for the Bayern reserves last season, having made his way through the Under-19 set-up, and scored 13 goals in 29 games, form that caught the eye of Freiburg.

The striker also had a taste of the Bundesliga after featuring in the 5-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach and is now hoping to play regular first-team football with his new club. “I had a great time at FC Bayern and would like to thank everyone at the FC Bayern Campus for helping me over the past year and a half and making it so easy to settle into like in Germany,” he said.
“I’m now looking forward to a new challenge in the Bundesliga with SC Freiburg.” Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus, added: “Woo came to us with the desire to take the next step in his career at Freiburg. He’s progressed exceptionally in a sporting and personal sense during his 18 months with us. We wish him all the best and will keep a close eye on his development.”
