Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has declared that the late Rashidi Yekini remains Nigeria’s best striker regardless of whether he breaks or surpasses his goal-scoring record.
Having scored 23 goals, the Galatasaray star is now 14 goals shy of the Super Eagles’ all-time goals record of the legendary Yekini, who netted 37.
However, reacting via his X handle, the Nigerian international stated that breaking or surpassing Yekini’s record won’t change the fact that the late striker is the greatest Nigeria has ever produced.

“No, no. I really don’t care about this. I just want to do my job and try to win games, score goals, provide a lot of assits for my team,” he said in a video uploaded to X.
“Then if I equal it, I equal it, if I surpass it, I surpass it, but that doesn’t take away Rashidi Yekini is the greatest striker in the Super Eagles have ever had.
“This record stood for a very, very long time and it still stands, so I think we should give him his flowers and also celebrate him.”

Oga what is it that you don’t understand with press conference and how it’s been organize…that you don’t understand how Roberto Mancini decides to pick the then new bad boy( from inter Milan) to speak alongside him in the press conference and then he would go on to answer questions from the English media which includes mancity plans to soon acquired aguero from athletico madrid and how he tends to adapt with a new strike force couple with the way he is adapting so fine with the English game and environment…

And how he intends to cope with any signee just the way he has coped with the English brand of football…aguero name popped up… (although he was latter signed July 2011
Anyway with your rodent brain I expect you to twist my comments…
Monkey yansh…..How many records have you broken in your life? The most childish adult? Lol
Hahaha that Chadian monkey without banana and his cohortes will not read this one.
His username is self frozen in perpetuity. That is the only viable option for the raging hatred displayed he displayed on the platform. It’s a wonder his bushy tail did not burst into flames from such unbridled negativity.
I think Osimhen has learnt a lot and evolved since his departure from Napoli. He must have been going through a lot when he was there and that probably explained his outburst. This is the Osimhen I loved and I am happy to see he is in a good place and back playing his best football. Keep that attitude and you will become the best player in the world (The talent is certainly there).
My brother, respect is reciprocal.
Osimhen only returned disrespect for disrespect…..and there is nothing wrong with that.
The boy is probably one of the most faithful footballers you will find in his generation.
As you rightly said about him a year or two ago, he thrives in an atmosphere of love. If he’s loved he delivers. But as the African saying goes, “The stealth of the leopard is not a sign of fear or weakness”. If you bite it it will bite you back.
Osimhen scored over 25 goals with little or no penalties in a stingy league like Serie A, for a mafia club like Napoli where selfish teammates hardly fed him with clear-cut balls, gave them the league after 3 decades and they rewarded him (I mean the club itself) with an online video calling him a coconut and mocking him, and you guys think he’s wrong to react…?
Despite showing clueless incompetent Finidi evidence of injury, and denying him access to the team despite being injured, the daft coach still went to report him to the sports minister as being “non-committed and wanting to be begged to play for Nigeria”, as an excuse for losing to Benin Republic on neutral ground in order to save his job, and you guys think Osimhen was also wrong to react to that too…?
Gala fans came out to line up the streets at 3 am to receive him when he landed in Turkey. His name is being sung everywhere in Istanbul even at wedding ceremonies. The club even though they clearly do not have the money is pulling all stops to try to sign him…..that’s love. Genuine love. And is Victor returning that love…..Hell Yes….and in good measure too.
In your words, Victor has the capacity do deliver in any club and any league as long as he’s shown as much love and respect as his name and performances command. The numbers tell the story.
And how was he disrespected? Because we read in several social media platforms that debunks his claims of disrespect by Coach Finidi, even at that is that the best approach to an upcoming star to behave. You as a person wouldn’t take it lightly with the content of his words
@JOHNSON lmao…I will advice you dedicate your time licking sweets than paying attention to that DEMENTED RODENT… lmao
Please can u show any news that presented finidi with himself side of the story?
Show us we’re finidi came out by himself to debunk the story? And not a third party helping to deny his own story
Well if CSN will allow it. But I believe you read in several dailies that he himself called Oshimen personally to clarify the air. So I don’t seems to understand your question. Who are the 3rd party, are you saying they are liars. Even the NFF also debunked that statement.
It’s like you too were in coma when several “mainstream media” platforms confirmed that he did make those cryptic statements aimed at Osimhen, but only didn’t mention his name.
The day your own boss too wants to sacrifice you to keep his own job, keep quiet like a mute and be thinking about “best approach”…..LMAOoo. Dont speak up and fight for your job, your name and your honour.
I as a person will not throw an innocent subordinate under the bus for my own incompetence. As the man in charge, I will be man enough to take full responsibility for it.
I really would like to refrain from passing insults. How was Oshimen thrown under the bus? Suddenly his comments are now cryptic. That’s just laughable. The coach was asked a question during interrogation, and he expressed his opinion without being biased. You very well saw the indiscipline going on in the team, do you expect him to keep his mouth quiet. So telling a player to stay back and recuperate and doesn’t need to be present at the camp translates to throwing him under the bus. hmmmmmm
FIFA, in simple terms, said that the VAR experiment was a failure and many teams were negatively affected by it, so they decided to come up with a new idea in football!
Today, FIFA announced that they will replace VAR with a new officiating system called FVS, which stands for Football Video Support. So, what’s the difference?
The FVS system will allow coaches to ask the referee to review their decision twice during a match—each coach can request two reviews.
However, if the referee reviews the decision for the first time and doesn’t change it, the coach will lose the second opportunity and won’t have any more chances to review decisions for the rest of the match!
FIFA believes this system is much simpler than VAR, using only 4 or 5 cameras and eliminating the need for the video referee team required by VAR.
FIFA tested this system at the U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cups, and it’s already used in other sports like basketball and tennis.
In other words, referees will still make mistakes during the match, and as a coach, you only have two chances to try to save a decision because there’s no VAR to back you up!
Coaches now need to keep an eye on offside situations, penalty decisions, and red cards, and make a calculated risk when challenging them.
So, basically, as a coach, you’re also a referee. Once your two attempts are used up, don’t bother asking the referee for anything else and just accept whatever happens in the match!
Football is entering its most exciting era!
If this shit is true then FIFA is just running from frypan to fire, I will retain the current VAR system.
Csn post my comments na ..what kind of infringement is this bikonu…you allow people insult me but when I give them back you delete… please am begging you post my comments…
