Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu is willing to give foreign-based players the chance to play for the team.
Nigeria recently claimed the title at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Lome, Togo.
The Flying Eagles will now shift attention to the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations which will be hosted by South Africa early next year.

Zubairu picked only local players for the WAFU tournament.
The tactician however said he is willing to give players plying their trade outside the country the opportunity to be part of the squad for the U-20 AFCON.
“We will not hinder their participation and are committed to selecting those with the necessary skills,” he said during a meeting with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, in Ilorin.

I only hope NFF will allow for early preparation because the tournament will take place in January 2025. This is link to the NFF slogan of ‘We have a lean pause slogan”. I only pray the technical crew is given enough time to prepare unlike 37 days given to the coach to prepare for WAFU B U20 competition in Lome, Togo. Let us watch and see when the NFF will give the go-ahead for this camp preparation. I pray it will not be December, 2024.
